Rosemary Okello-Orlale is a well-recognized communication, media and gender expert who finds interest in public policy, education, creating Africa narrative through Data storytelling, Business and Finance Reporting. Currently she is the Director- Africa Media Hub, Strathmore University Business School whose mission is to increase expert knowledge among the business and finance journalists in the coverage of critical issues related to the global economy and business using data visualization. She has a track record of working with donor communities, multilateral organizations, media organizations, government, academia, professional bodies, development agencies, private sector, civil society, and CSOs. Previously she was a Program Officer on Civic Engagement and Government, development of policies, media and communications strategies, communities of practice development and nurturing; Creativity and Free Expression and Advancing Public Service Media Initiative at the Ford Foundation Eastern African office. She a Founder and Executive Director of African Woman and Child Feature Service and was involved in the formation of the Kenya Editor’s Guild, the Africa Editor’s Forum, and the Media Council of Kenya. She has won several media awards such as the Presidential Award for the contribution in the development of the media in Kenya and was recognized as the best female journalist reporter in Africa on ICTs after winning the 2004 Economic Commission of Africa (ECA) media awards
