Phathiswa Magopeni serves as Executive Director of the Press Council of South Africa, is a Board Director of the SABC, and holds leadership roles in organisations such as African Women in Media and the Network of Independent Media Councils in Africa. With over twenty years of experience in multimedia journalism and editorial leadership, she has held senior positions at SABC News and Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism. Magopeni has also lectured at the University of the Western Cape and the University of Cape Town. She holds advanced degrees in education, marketing communications, and business administration, and is pursuing a doctorate.
