Bongekile is an award-winning journalist with over a decade of experience in print and online media. She currently serves as the Deputy Politics Editor at News24, South Africa’s leading digital news publication. She is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in journalism, Bongekile is also a Fellow of the prestigious Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford. Her groundbreaking research focused on the lived experiences of Black African women journalists in South Africa, shedding light on their unique challenges and contributions within the industry. Bongekile is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and driving meaningful change through storytelling and journalism.
