Asha is founder and Managing Director of Debunk Media – a Nairobi-based independent multimedia company covering People, Politics and Pop-Culture. Asha spent more than a decade weaving intricate stories of people and their relationship to power through reportage, investigations and documentary filmmaking. Her more notable work include her reporting on Al-Shabaab’s terror grip in the region, Nelson Mandela’s final days and death, official corruption in Kenya, extrajudicial killings in Kenya’s urban towns as well as the intersection of public debt and public policy. For her reporting on Al-Shabaab activities at the Kenya-Somalia border, Asha was named the 2016 CNN Multichoice African journalist of the Year.
