Visa Requirements – What You Need to Know

Visitors traveling to Ethiopia are required to have a valid visa, unless they are from visa-exempt countries. We recommend that all AWiM25 delegates apply for an Ethiopian e-Visa well in advance of travel.

How to Apply for an Ethiopian e-Visa:

  • Visit the official Ethiopian e-Visa portal: https://www.evisa.gov.et/information/tourist
  • Choose “Tourist Visa” as your visa type.
  • Complete the online application and upload necessary documents.
  • Pay securely online and receive your visa by email (usually within 3–5 working days).

Visa on Arrival:

Ethiopia also offers Visa on Arrival for citizens of select countries. However, we strongly encourage all delegates to apply for an e-Visa in advance to avoid queues and delays at the airport.
