Ivy Gikonyo

Ivy is a lawyer, researcher, and advocate for digital justice with a passion for reimagining inclusive futures at the intersection of technology, policy, and gender. She works at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, where she focuses on freedom of expression, access to information, and digital rights in Africa. Her current doctoral research explores the governance of sovereign debt through a human rights lens. Ivy is especially interested in how feminist frameworks can inform technology policy to promote equity, safety, and agency for structurally marginalised communities in digital spaces. She also hosts a podcast exploring faith, identity, and justice.
