Scheherazade Safla-Gaffoor strives to make an impact by empowering underrepresented voices on various media platforms. She has worked for the UK’s Channel 5, South Africa’s etv and first 24-hour news channel, eNews Channel Africa, TRTWorld in Turkey, as well as Al Jazeera English and Euronews in Qatar. Scheherazade has produced and hosted podcasts, television shows, and documentary specials. Her research interests focus on the challenges of digital reporting in complex cultural environments, podcasting in the Global South, and the portrayal of women of color in new digital spaces. Scheherazade holds a master’s degree in digital communication from Johns Hopkins University.
