I am Stella Kasina, an experienced independent health journalist with a strong focus on gender-based violence, public health issues, and human rights. I previously worked as a Communications Administrator at the Kenya Women Workers Organization (KEWWO), where I led campaigns, produced communication materials, and supported advocacy efforts on labor rights, HIV/AIDS, and gender violence. As a Senior Reporter and Health Producer at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, I created impactful health segments like “Health Matters,” which raised public awareness on critical health issues. I have received multiple awards, including the Red Ribbon Award and the Bloggers Association Kenya (BAKE) awards, for my contributions to health journalism. My work has provided me with the opportunity to cover diverse stories, from health crises to gender-based violence, and to advocate for systemic change through media. I am passionate about educating and empowering my audience with vital health information, and I continue to work towards amplifying marginalized voices in the media.
