Uyanda is the National Coordinator at the SOS Support Public Broadcasting Coalition. SOS Coalition, a civil society organisation advocating for the strengthening and advancement of public service media in the public interest.
Uyanda’s drives initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, sustainability, and independence at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) including its oversight structures. This involves engaging industry stakeholders to influence policy, legislation, and regulations. Now she is leading SOS’s continental consultations for Resolution 631 on behalf of the African Commission on Human and People’s Right’s Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information in Africa
